	About


	I’m Diarmuid. I’m a graphic designer from Ireland. I work a lot with motion, branding, illustration and occasionally take an incursion into type design. Ultimately, I just like making things that I hope will resonate with people.
My work has been recognised by the Institute of Creative Advertising and Design, European Design Awards and the 100 Archive. I've previously been part of the prestigious Three×3 programme and worked alongside some very talented designers. 


Currently I'm based in London, working with Uncommon.&#38;nbsp;

	Too Into You


	1 in 5 young women in Ireland have experienced physical or sexual violence. Together with Language studio, we created a series of videos for Too Into You – an initiative by Women’s Aid, to raise awareness of relationship abuse among young people and provide support.
The audience for these videos would be young people, primarily female, aged 18-25 and therefore would need to have a voice and style which would be engaging and help them see that this resource was ‘for them’. Each video focused on a different topic: the different forms of abuse and how they can manifest in relationships; the concept of ‘lovebombing’ and why it is a tactic of abuse; and abuse in marginalised communities (migrants, LGBTQ+ etc.).
While staying within the Too Into You brand, we expanded the look and feel so that this suite of videos could work as standalone, high quality resources that individuals would really want to watch – on YouTube, via social media, and at workshops and events run by Too Into You. These videos are part of the overall strategy for Too Into You – to make the topic of abuse in relationships accessible and relatable to a wide base of young people.

	Inis Offshore Wind


	Inis Offshore Wind is a renewable energy firm working towards a sustainable future for Ireland. With a number of potential projects off the Irish coast, Inis Offshore works closely with local communities, marine users and key stakeholders, to maximise the positive impact of their projects.
Developing, constructing and maintaining an offshore wind farm is a lengthy and detailed process. To help Inis Offshore communicate this to the public effectively, we created an illustrated, interactive map. 
The project involved taking complex machinery, such as a jackup vessel, and rendering it in a manner which would be accessible to the public. Motion was then introduced to further illustrate the purpose of each object. The illustration style of simplified geometric forms, blocks of the colour and thin lines, fit neatly within the Inis Offshore brand, and provided a structured but flexible system from which a multitude of objects could be created.

	RSA Moving Pictures


	The Royal Society of Arts is an organisation dedicated to creating positive social change. As part of their annual Moving Pictures competition, the words of philosopher Roman Kryznaric were illuminated using the power of animation.Surrounded  by fascinating content, online audiences are quick to move on if not instantly entertained. To imbue the message with a sense of urgency, the visuals took a strictly typographic approach. Each frame was handmade using a myriad of materials and techniques, keeping the viewer engaged throughout.

	Limerick City Gallery of Art


	An eclectic gathering of over 2,500 international posters, The Michael O’Connor Collection in LCGA is a must see for art and design enthusiasts, however due to shortages in exhibition space and storage facilities, this extraordinary collection remains hidden from view.
An app was created to give the public access to the collection while also preserving it for the future. Taking a stripped back approach, the app's design lets the posters take centre stage. 
Buttons and rule lines are kept visually light, text appears only where strictly necessary, and fades once past the viewer’s focus. A blur screen allows each poster to function as a coloured background while users browse its information. The homepage features 360° scrolling, replicating the spontaneity of the physical gallery, while the browse section offers a structured viewing experience.
